JEFFREY JOSEPH POLIZZI (ASCAP) is a music composer and violinist in St. Louis, MO who specializes in composing classical music, choral works, arranging music, and playing his violin named Theresa after his grandmother.  His highest strength in composition is classical; he can provide instrumentations to create a variety of sounds, shift chords with harmonics to create a new direction, and melodic textures to create distinction in music.  He is dubbed as a neo-Romanticist for he has inspiration with Pytor (Peter) Ilyich Tchaikovsky and his composition technique.  He likes to compose music with dramatic fashion.

            He earned two Bachelor’s Degrees at the University of Missouri-St. Louis in music:  composition in May 2017 and performance emphasis in violin in May 2019.  He earned Summa Cum Laude in both degrees, and in composition he earned a Distinction of Creativity in the Arts.  He wrote his first symphony, Symphony No. 1 in C Minor, Ferguson for his composition senior project, and earned high appraisal.

            In October 2019, he wrote arrangements for the Arianna String Quartet to accompany the renowned country singer Michael Martin Murphey at the Wildwood Springs Lodge in Steelville, MO.  However, he did not arrange his hit song Wildfire.  He arranged Long Line of Love, What’s Forever For, Little Bird, and Texas Trilogy featuring Daybreak, Trainride, and Bosque County Romance.  Despite his strength in classical, he learned how to blend with country music with train affects, strings playing harmonics to reference the glass harmonica referencing tumbleweeds, and a violin referencing the bird inspired from Josef Strauss.

            He is currently arranging songs for commission.  He is also currently writing his first string quartet piece dedicated to his grandmother Theresa “The Tree” Polizzi after her death at the age of 104 on December 9, 2018.  It is titled String Quartet No. 1 in E Minor, Theresa.
